Review by Lisa Jack, 06/20/10

"Dream Zone is an excellent read. The stories were exciting and kept me wanting to read more and more. I loved how she made a difference in the lives of the people she encountered. We can all learn a thing or two from what Janise experienced."

Write A Novella In 60 Days - Proboards Forum

A novella is currently the most dynamic literary force available today. Novellas (approx. 30,000 word books) are a quick read. People enjoy them because the stories are not boring and usually fast paced. An author can take the novella and keep building on it again and again, creating a loyal fan base. The opportunities are limitless! I wrote my first novella with this process in 2010. The inaugural group session starts - January 1, 2014! There needs to be at least 10 people doing the process for the forum to be successful. Write that book you always wanted to. Join in! Link To ProBoards

DREAM ZONE Excerpt - Chapter 6

Chapter 6

The doorbell rings and I go to answer it. It must be a stranger who can’t read the ‘No Soliciting’ sign. I look out and it’s Elisabeth. “What’s up with this chick? “ I think to myself, “doesn’t she know it’s polite to call first?”

“What’s up Lissy?” I heard Troy call her by that nickname yesterday.
“Oh not much. I bought this bread by Troy asked for. Is he here?” she asks looking around.
“No, he’s at work. Why are you looking for him?”
“Oh nothing. Game talk. Want to be sure we’re ready for tomorrow.”
“Another game already?” I say confused.
“Yes, already. Championship game. I’m glad we won but you messed up the other day. You do have the new plays memorized right?” Elisabeth said, knowing I didn’t.
“Not all of them. I’ll get Troy to go over it with me again. Elisabeth, I need to get back to work.”
“I know. What are you saying? Do you want me to leave?”
“To be honest, yeah. I really need to concentrate on this new account.”
“Enough with the games. Who are you? I know my best friend and you are not her.”
“What are you talking about? Are you OK?” playing dumb.
“I’m OK but you’re not!” she screams.
“Elisabeth, you’re tired. Go lay down in the other room and rest. I’ll find Troy so you can talk to him.”
“Don’t play dumb. Everyone knows you are not Janise. You’re different. You’re too nice.”
“OK, now you’re making me laugh. I am Janise! If I’m nicer, you should be happy!”
At that minute Troy drives up. He runs to the house and greets me with a hug.
